Our Work
A look at the settings, equipment and steps behind our news video production.
What our daily work looks like
These scenes show the settings we work in: roadsides, studios and edit suites. Each one reflects a step in how we turn a developing story into something a presenter can introduce.

Setting up on location
The operator sets the tripod and checks exposure before the interviewee arrives. Careful positioning at the start avoids retakes later and keeps the crew out of other people's way.

Studio interview lighting
Two chairs, a soft key light and a plain background give a consistent look across a programme. We check sound levels before the guest sits down.

Handheld shooting under pressure
When a story is moving, the operator works handheld with a shoulder-mounted camera. Steady framing and short, usable takes matter more than elaborate shots.

Same-day edit
The editor trims interviews, lays in cutaways and adds captions on two screens. Delivery formats are set up early so the file is ready when the cut is approved.

Newsroom workflow review
A consultant sits with editors and producers to see how a story travels from first tip to transmission. Notes from these sessions become written recommendations.

Camera technique workshop
Reporters and camera staff practise framing, focus and lighting on short exercises. The aim is to give them habits they can rely on when time is short.
